UNIVERSITY OF THE NATIONS AFFILIATED & OTHER COURSES AT YWAM LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA.
- SCHOOL OF CHURCH PLANTING AND LEADERSHIP (CHR 233-234):
This school is built around four pillars namely, Church Leadership, Church Growth, Church Planting, and Church Renewal. It does not have a group Outreach phase but an individualized Internship. The Intern goes to a church or ministry of their choice (provided it meets the SCPL criteria for taking intern) and works alongside mature leaders in the area in which they wish to develop skills and attitudes that will contribute to their future or present ministry. This years school will start on 15th April 2018.
- FOUNDATIONS FOR COUNSELING MINISTRIES [FCM] (CNH 211-212)
While the DTS is the doorway into YWAM and the University of the Nations, this module is the doorway to the counseling faculty of the College of Healthcare and Counseling (for those majoring in Counseling). It aims at laying a foundation for a counseling ministry that is Christian and biblical. The student learns active listening skills, empathy, respect, warmth, the place of prayer in counseling, basic Rational Restructuring (Rational Christian Thinking), HIV/AIDS counseling, etc. The start date of this school is 15th January every year.
- ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOR COUNSELING SCHOOL! (CNH 321-322)
This School has two pre-requisite courses, namely; DTS and FCM or an equivalent basic counseling course, e.g.,CCS, FMS or IBCS. The School will be held every other year, in this case it will be July 2, 2017. Graduates of the FCM wishing to pursue an advanced level counseling school are invited to plan ahead and plan to study for a whole year at YWAM Livingstone Base. This requires bringing along a TB clearance certificate, a police clearance certificate, and arriving in the country on a Business Visa, in order to apply for a STUDY PERMIT while in the country.
- ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOR COUNSELING SEMINAR :
Unlike the School, the seminar is intended to pass on very basic concepts and tools for working with addicts to people who want to be involved in ministry to addicts but have not done pre-requisite courses. Credit cannot be obtained for both ABCS school and seminar participation. The next school will be July 2, 2017.
